Pack some cotton wool into the nose. This absorbs the perspiration. When the model keeps her mouth firmly closed, the parts should fit together well.

Apply a little Grimas Mastix Extra to the inside of the scales/adhesive edge and allow it to dry for a few seconds. Do the following to get the correct degree of adhesion: press the latex prostetic lightly in place and then remove it again straight away. Wait a few seconds and reposition the application, pressing the edges in place with a tissue.
Protect the eyes by closing them and covering them with a tissue. Can cause serious damage to the eyes.

To get a smooth transition between the latex prostetic and the skin, even the edges off as follows: apply a thin line of eyelash adhesive to the edge of a sponge and dab this over the transition between the latex prostetic and the skin. Allow to dry with help of a hairdryer until the result is transparent. Repeat this process until a nice and even transition is obtained.

Apply a base with Grimas Cake Make-up.
Advice: when you apply a Cake base with two colours, first apply the area of light colour and then the area of dark colour.

You apply Cake Make-up with a slightly damp make-up sponge. If you work with too much moisture, streaks will form. You can press the make-up sponge down onto a tissue to remove any excess moisture. Take the make-up sponge between the fingertips and squeeze it together to create a round surface. With this surface the make-up can be applied. First dab a little Cake Make-up onto the hand to check the colour intensity. Cake Make-up dries quickly, so you need to work quickly to achieve a nice result.

Apply the light colour around the eyes and the dark colour for the rest, including neck and earlobes.

If the result is not even, turn the sponge that you worked with over and use the clean side to even out the make-up. Any stripes after drying can be gently rubbed away with a soft tissue or cloth.

WATER MAKE-UP

Use Water Make-up (Pure) to draw the nose and the lines of the gorilla face.

Water Make-up works just like watercolour paint. Use the brush and a little water to soften the make-up and make it a bit pasty. Test the colour intensity on the hand. Don't work too dry, but do not use too much water. Water Make-up (Pure) dries within 15 seconds.
If you do not want the colours to mix, be sure to wait for the first layer to dry before you work over it.

Hint: Regularly change the water you rinse your brushes in and preferably work with two water bowls: one for light and one for dark shades.
