Before starting, you ensure your hands and nails are well cleaned. File your nails if necessary, so that there are no snags. By doing this you prevent damages on the face and risk of infection.
Always work using clean materials (sponges, brushes, spatulas, water bowls) and change the water regularly.
Get the subject to put on any clothes beforehand that have to be put on over the head. Protect your models clothing with a hairdressing cape or a towel.
Apply the make-up on clean skin, after the usual daily care (day cream or Grimas Under Make-up Base).
You start by applying a base. Here you can choose from Grimas Cake Make-up, Foundation, Camouflage Make-up Pure, Crème Make-up Pure and Compact Powder. Every single one of the basic make-ups is excellently suited for any skin type.
In this example we are working with a base of Grimas Camouflage Make-up.
Fix the make-up with plenty of Fixing Powder. Fixing Powder is transparent and does not influence the colour.
Fixing Powder can be applied with a Grimas Velour Powder Puff, a Powder Puff or a Powder Rouge Brush. Gently tap the puff or brush on the back of the hand and then apply plentifully on top of the make-up.
Allow to settle in for a waterproof result and remove the excess powder with a Powder-Rouge Brush.
Hint: you can also use a brush (for instance R4 or M4) of which you yourself have cut the hairs diagonally.
Work from the centre to the outer areas and do not begin right where it starts. Then you push the hairs upwards and fill in the eyebrow a little from the bottom.
Use the brush to apply a thin layer of Eyebrow Fixer to the eyebrows. Use the brush to fix the hairs in the right direction. You can repeat the process several times, each time only using a little of the product.
Eyeshadow/Rouge and Pearl Eyeshadow are very colour-intensive. In principle, you apply a light-coloured eye shadow to the upper eyelid, a dark colour in the eye fold and a light colour to the eyebrow arch.
Take the required colour of eye shadow out using a brush or applicator. Then you run the eye shadow over your hand to test the colour intensity.
You can make an eyeliner with Grimas Eyeshadow/Rouge and a little Cleansing Lotion.
Upper eyelash edge: pull the outer corner of the eye upwards a little, get the subject to close their eyes and use a brush to place the eyeliner against the upper eyelashes and apply it from the inner corner outwards. Do not start too close to the inner corner of the eye and stop at the outer corner of the eye. If you want to draw the eyeliner line further, do this while the eyes are open and do not pull the skin. Let the line run a little upwards from a quarter of the way from the end. If necessary, thicken the drawn line to the desired shape.
Lower eyelash edge: apply the eyeliner with a brush from the outer corner towards the inner side, but do not finish too close to the inner corner of the eye. If necessary, fade with a dry brush.
Take the Eyelash carefully out of the box. Using the adhesive edge that holds it in the box, you can attach the Eyelash to the upper eyelash edge using tweezers or the fingers. Work from the inside outwards, starting slightly inside the inner corner of the eye. Remove the Eyelash again. Any excess length you can cut off at the outer end.
If there is any doubt, it is better to make the Eyelashes 1 mm too short!
Apply the Eyelash from the inner side outwards using tweezers. Press carefully on with a cotton bud. Work rapidly, as the adhesive dries quickly. After a few minutes, the white Eyelash Adhesive will automatically turn transparent.
Draw with a pencil to draw the outline of the lips. Work from the outside inwards for the upper lip, and from the inside outwards for the lower lip. With the pencil you can correct the contours and moreover the lipstick will not run quickly.
Hint: if the tip feels hard on the skin and won't draw properly, then warm the tip of the pencil in your hand or sharpen the tip again.
Apply a strikingly-coloured Lipstick. Take the Lipstick (Pure) onto a spatula (even if you are working from a stick) and apply it with a lip brush.
First colour the middle of the lips and then colour the edges, working from the outside inwards. Dab the result with a tissue to matt it off.
Hint: to make the lips appear shiny you can also apply Gloss on top of the Lipstick. The lips are in that case not 'kiss-proof'.
Use the Powder-Rouge Brush to take out Grimas Eyeshadow/Rouge in the desired colour. Put the powder brush vertically and tap with the hand to disperse the powder in the hairs so the powder does not just end up on the tips of the hairs. Smooth the colour out with the flat side of the brush, so do not dab it on.
If necessary, apply for a special effect a little Polyglitter or Tipcrème to the lips, cheekbones or the lower neckline.
Store the make-up in a dry and cool place until the next time you use it.
The sponges are disposable so you can throw them away after use. If you do want to reuse them, first rinse them under the tap with some soap or shampoo or wash them in the washing machine (in a net bag or pillow case), set to at least 60°C. You can also wash the (Velour) Powder Puff in the washing machine.
You can clean brushes with water and soap or shampoo. The Powder and Blusher Brush is cleaned like this too. Put the moist hairs of the brushes back into shape by hand after washing. Dry the brushes lying flat on a towel and do not place them upright, since that causes the moisture to run down into the shaft.
